Wedding Ceremonies
I genuinely love weddings! Not just the flowers, the dresses or the dance floor (although I love those too).
What I love most is the moment two people stand together and choose each other.
As your celebrant, my role is to create a ceremony that feels completely and unmistakably yours. I craft ceremonies that capture your story, your personalities and the relationship you've built together.
I'll take the time to get to know you beyond just the basics of how you met, what makes you laugh and what you love most about each other. From there, I'll craft a ceremony that feels personal, meaningful and engaging for both you and your guests.
My style is warm, relaxed and professional. I guide you through the entire process, from the legal requirements through to ceremony planning, ensuring you feel informed, supported and completely comfortable every step of the way.
The wedding ceremony is more than just the formal part of the day. I believe it's the heart of the celebration and the moment that sets the tone for everything that follows afterwards.
Whether you're planning an intimate gathering, a grand celebration or something beautifully unconventional, I'll work with you to create a ceremony that feels authentic, joyful and true to who you are as a couple.
Sound good? I’d love to hear from you. I offer all my couples an obligation free catch up so you can be sure I’m the right fit for your special day.

A wedding celebrant does much more than simply conduct the legal part of your ceremony. I see my role as helping transform your ideas and story into a ceremony that feels uniquely yours.
As your wedding celebrant, I guide you through every step of the legal process, ensuring all required paperwork is completed correctly and that everything is taken care of well before your wedding day. My role is to make the legalities feel simple and seamless, so you can focus on the fun stuff and the excitement of celebrating your marriage.
Together, we’ll create a ceremony that reflects who you are as a couple. From the stories you choose to share, I’ll write and deliver a personalised ceremony that feels natural, engaging and meaningful, rather than a one-size-fits-all script.
On the day itself, I manage the flow of your ceremony, ensuring everything runs smoothly and create a relaxed experience for you, your bridal party and your guests. I work closely with your venue, photographer, planner and other suppliers to help coordinate timing, positioning and those important little details that make your ceremony feel effortless.
Your wedding ceremony sets the tone for the entire celebration. My role is to create a moment that feels authentic, beautifully delivered and unforgettable. I want you to have the confidence that every detail is in experienced hands.

I'd always recommend booking sooner rather than later.
Many couples book their wedding celebrant 12 to 24 months in advance, particularly for popular spring and autumn weddings when dates can be in high demand. Booking early gives you the best chance of securing your preferred date and means one more important part of your wedding planning is taken care of.
That said, if your wedding is just around the corner, don't hesitate to get in touch. You never know, I may have your date available, and I'd love to hear about your plans.
Once you're ready to proceed, I'll guide you through a simple booking process to officially secure your date.

Sometimes the perfect wedding moment is an intimate elopement, a small gathering with your closest people, or a celebration where a family member or friend takes on the role of sharing your story and leading the ceremony.
If you only need a registered wedding celebrant to take care of the legal requirements and officially solemnise your marriage, I offer a tailored legal ceremony service to suit your plans.
This option is ideal for couples who:
are planning an elopement or intimate wedding;
want a simple, meaningful ceremony with minimal formalities; or
are looking for a registered celebrant to manage the legal process while someone else hosts the celebration.
You’ll receive the confidence of knowing your legal requirements are handled professionally, with all necessary documentation prepared and lodged correctly.
Sometimes you need the full symphony orchestra, and sometimes a beautiful quartet creates exactly the atmosphere you’re looking for. My role is to provide the level of support that best fits your vision.
If a full personalised ceremony isn’t what you need, I’m happy to create a tailored package that suits your plans. Get in touch and we can discuss the right option for you.

I know this is one of the first questions couples ask and understandably so.
If you'd like to learn more about my ceremony packages, what's included and my availability, I'd love to hear about your plans. Get in touch and I'll happily provide all the details, answer any questions and help you find the option that's the best fit for your wedding.

Your celebrant should complement your wedding and not distract from it.
I believe that small details matter. I make a conscious effort to fit naturally within the style and feel of your day. From the way I dress through to the way I present myself, I will take the time to understand your vision and, where possible, coordinate with your colour palette and overall aesthetic.
While I play an important role in your ceremony, the focus should always remain on you. I'm mindful that your photographer and videographer are there to capture the beautiful moments of your day, so I work alongside them to ensure I’m present when needed but never in the way.
I’ll position myself thoughtfully, keep the ceremony flowing smoothly and step aside when appropriate, allowing your photographer to capture the moments that matter most.

Absolutely! I'm based in Melbourne but I love celebrating love stories wherever they happen.
I regularly officiate weddings throughout Melbourne and surrounding regions, generally within a 90-minute drive of the CBD. If your venue is a little further afield though or you're planning a destination wedding elsewhere in Victoria or interstate, I'd be delighted to chat.
For weddings beyond my standard service area, I'll simply provide a tailored quote that reflects any additional travel or accommodation requirements. Everything will be discussed upfront, so you'll know exactly what to expect.
If you're unsure whether your location falls within my service area, get in touch. I'd love to hear about your plans and see how I can help bring your ceremony to life.

Absolutely! I have found it’s quite common for couples to feel daunted writing their vows. My biggest piece of advice? Start earlier than you think you need to. Give yourself plenty of time to reflect on your relationship, jot down ideas as they come to you and revisit them over a few weeks. More often than not, couples discover that once they stop chasing the "perfect" words, their vows begin to write themselves.
If you're not sure where to start, I'm happy to point you in the right direction. We can talk about a simple structure which often works well.
The most memorable vows aren't the most poetic, they are the most genuine. Don't be afraid to include the little things that make your relationship uniquely yours. Whether it's an inside joke, a shared tradition or a promise to always make the morning coffee. Personal details and specificity keep things fresh and unique.
If you'd like some extra reassurance, I offer to review vows individually before the wedding. I'll make sure they're similar in length and strike a similar balance of humour and sentiment, all without spoiling the surprise for either of you. It's a simple way to give you confidence that you're approaching your vows from the same place while keeping the magic of hearing them for the first time on the day.
I also offer to print your vows and have them ready and waiting on the day. No scrunched-up pieces of paper or frantic pocket searches. It’s one less detail for you to think about, so you can stay present in the moment and focus on the person standing in front of you.
“For anyone thinking of engaging Louise Spargo as a celebrant: do it!
We can't speak highly enough of Lou, she was fantastic to work with. Her warmth, personable nature & genuine care were evident from the get-go and she made us feel so supported throughout the entire process.
Prior to the wedding day, Lou was incredibly proactive in getting the ball rolling. Her communication was always clear - explaining exactly what we needed to action & when to keep everything on track. She provided us with information, forms and questionnaires early on in the process, which enabled us to spend lots of time thinking about our answers, preferences and style (this was great as it gave us direction & meant we weren't stressing about this in the lead up to the wedding!).
When crafting the ceremony, Lou took the time to really get to know us and our story as a couple. This level of care & attention to detail came through on the day, with a tailored ceremony that perfectly captured us. The ceremony was also beautifully written as Lou has a wonderful way with words and is very articulate. On the wedding day, Lou radiated positive energy and warmth and guided the ceremony with confidence and ease.
We can't thank Lou enough for making our wedding day so special. We couldn't recommend her more highly!”

“Lou made us feel completely at ease about our ceremony. We wanted something that felt personal, relaxed and incorporated our family members as well.
The whole process was incredibly easy. Lou was organised, responsive and offered to help and support our two family MC’s as they prepared for their respective roles. We always felt confident that every detail was under control, which made such a difference in the lead-up to the ceremony when we had lots on our mind.
On the day itself, Lou struck the perfect balance of warmth and professionalism. She worked seamlessly with our other suppliers, kept everything running smoothly and helped create exactly the atmosphere we had hoped for.
We couldn't have asked for a better celebrant and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lou to any couple looking for someone who is thoughtful, approachable and genuinely invested in making your day feel special.”
